Jerry Lawson Bio 

A lawyer for 20 years, Mr. Lawson has worked extensively in the area of lawyer use of the Internet. He is the author of The Complete Internet Handbook for Lawyers, published by the American Bar Association, and the Internet chapter in another ABA book, Flying Solo (3rd Ed.), as well as many magazine articles, including:

Mr. Lawson has been the chief instructor/moderator for CLE classes sponsored by the University of Kentucky College of Law, the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and CLEONLINE. He has also presented seminars for Legal Tech New York, the Maryland State Bar Association, Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education, the Atlanta Bar Association, the Michigan State Bar Association, Themis, Inc., American Lawyer Media's Legalseminars.com, ABA Techshow and Virginia CLE, a non-profit arm of the Virginia State Bar Association.

Mr. Lawson has cut back his speaking schedule, but he will consider particularly interesting speaking or teaching opportunities. 

Professional Training & Experience: Mr. Lawson is a 1979 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law, where he served as Lead Articles Editor of the law review. He has worked as a law clerk for a U.S. District Court judge, as an Army lawyer, where his assignments included working on Caspar Weinberger's legal staff at the Department of Defense, as a Special Assistant United States Attorney, and a tour near the Demilitarized Zone in Korea. He has also worked as a civilian lawyer for the Department of the Treasury and the National Archives.

A former active tournament player, Mr. Lawson's present schedule no longer allows him to play chess competitively, but he maintains the popular Chesslinks Worldwide site.
