Downloading
Downloading means transferring files from a distant
computer to yours. One of the attractions of Internet use is the large
number of files that can be downloaded at little or no cost. Download.com
and Tucows ("The Ultimate Collection of Windows
Software") have large collection of
downloadable files. Here are a few specific files you may find useful:
Browsers
It's usually a good idea to keep your browser fairly current.

Internet Access Programs
| E-mail programs. Most lawyers will spend more time using
their e-mail program than any other application, so it makes sense to get
and learn to use a good e-mail program. The Microsoft and Netscape browsers
referenced above come bundled with reasonable e-mail programs. Here are two
more powerful stand-alone e-mail programs:

The most popular "industrial strength" e-mail program. "Lite" version free. "Pro" version has extra features.
